Deluxe VM

Anyone around here have a Deluxe Vintage Modified? I'm very tempted by it but I'd like a few more opinions before I go looking for one.

Your opinion is the only one that should matter. If you like it go get it. I played one and it seemed fine. In fact, if it weighed what a SC XD weighed I would own it. I already got a "big" amp.

True...but I have no way of trying one out without driving 3 hours across the country.

I have a Blues Junior and a Roland Cube 60. For my current bands they're fine. I use the Cube60 for home practicing, quiet jazzy gigs and low volume country(ish) playing.
The BJ I use for a number of bands including a fairly loud blues/rock outfit. I just mic it up thru the PA. I've also just put a Celestion V30 speaker in it and I'll be trying it out at tonight's rehearsal.

I've been looking into another amp since I'd like a backup for the Blues Junior (the Cube 60 doesn't really cut it in a full band situation, I find). It would also be nice not to have to go thru the PA with a full band.

Portability is an issue. I don't fancy slinging a 50 pound plus amp around at 2AM anymore. That scotched the notion of a Vox AC15.

So I've narrowed it down to another Blues Junior (I have a good a/b/y switch so I can link them up), a Koch Studiotone or a Deluxe VM. The Koch would have to be orderred sight unseen and costs nearly a grand. The Deluxe VM I can get for about 590 euro and a BJ for about a hundred less.

So the Deluxe VM is the most logical candidate....I think.
