Another vote for the Roland BC60-310
You can get some really good tones out of this, as others have stated

Other forums talk about putting an Eminence Delta Demon speaker in a Roland Cube 30.
I had this done and it really makes it a great little amp

Also.....Fender made a Jazz King with a 15" Eminence speaker. Some really nice tones to be had there too

At that point, with Peavey's reliability taken onto consideration, I figure I ought to have enough amps to last me about 300 years. Or, for the same price, I could buy a single one-trick-pony vintage or boutique amp. And then get job mowing lawns whenever it needs tubes, a cap job, or a new tranny...
I like this philosophy - I like my multiple Transtubes as well. Unbelievable amps that really sound and feel like they have tubes in them.

Alright, well I mentioned Johnson Amps earlier in this thread... and now I've just bought one! Found one at my local Long & McQuade for $350.

I love having a bunch of different amps at my fingertips (or feet since I've got the J12 board). I'll be honest, I played it back to back with my Traynor YCV40WR and really couldn't tell it was a solid state. Only if I cranked the input level up to the point where it was clipping could I tell it was a solid state amp.

I have been playing a Yamaha G100-212 for almost 30 years. I have a pair of EV's in it and it weighs in at about 93 lbs. That part is not so much fun.

But the sound is sparkling clean, plenty of headroom. Tone is wonderful. Some might say it's a bit sterile, I thing it accurately reproduces any guitar i plug into it.

Plenty of great pedals to give you whatever kind of OD you want. I used a Boss OD and a Tube Screamer. But I ain't never seen a pedal that gives you the clean sound of this amp.

I have a '69 Kustom K200 head that I run into a pair of Epiphone Valve Junior 1x12" cabinets, though I used to use it with a matched pair of '68 Kustom 2x15"s. It's a great amp with a splash of reverb from my Line 6 Verbzilla and some dirt from my Boss OD-3. The real kicker is that it's a great BASS amp, too! I use it through a 1x15" with my Jazz Bass and it sounds great!

I'm suprised no one has heard of Evans Amps.

The only "boutique" SS amp I know of, it's blackface voiced also.

I keep an old, first gen Pignose in the den with my Road Worn Strat just for picking while watching tv. It is perfect for low volume with tone.

Then you've been looking in the wrong places.

There's Evans; Pritchard; Acoustic Image; Webb; Henriksen; AER; and JazzCat. There was also Pearce, but they went defunct years ago. There's probably others.

I've heard of Evans amps. The pedal steel player in my electric band uses one. I liked it a ton, so I looked into their guitar amps. Too rich for my blood. Maybe someday, but not the kind of buy I'll make sight unseen. If I came across a good deal on a used one, and could try it first, I might go for it though. My steel players amp sounds amazing.
