My favorites, simply because they're what I own: Blues Jr., Pignose.

I'd love to try a Princeton, but it ain't in the budget. Probably never will be...

Blackface Princeton reverb w/celestion blue or a jbl is pretty hard to beat. A rivera era Champ II with a good alnico speaker is my favorite. An AC-15w/blue is another fave of mine.

Egnater Rebel 20

I'm surprised that the Egnater Rebel 20 isn't popping up a lot here. It's a fantastic little amp. I'm currently running the Rebel through a 4x10 Hot Rod Deville cab (amp chassis removed), and it sounds hot.

My Tele loves the Rebel.

The Egnator has'nt caught on yet, but I think it's the best 20 watt amp there is available for the money. Buy it as a head for 599.00 and you are set for everything. Tried one yesterday and was blown away. Effects loop plus 4,8 & 16 ohm speaker jacks in a light and portable package.

+8 on any good Tweed Deluxe. Original or a good clone. Trust me I've been through a lot of speakers for my Clark 5E3 and the Celestion Blue is the BOMB! In the same category I have a 1955 Gibson GA30 and a SF Princeton Reverb. They're all keepers. See 'em in my avatar.

I love the sound of the tweed blues jr with a tele i find it really cuts through nice . For a small amp it has it all .
also im really enjoying the new fender super champs they are great little amps to practice with at home . Nice to have a small amp with a few built in extras but still with that good old valve setup . Turn them up and you can get a real nice sound . I have only used 1-6 on the amp modes ( fender blackface and tweed tones) find thats all i need with a little reverb or trem.

The real Rivers era Super Champs are 18 watts RMS and can gig at many venues.

Thread resurrection :)

I like my 5E3 build, a Silvertone 1482, several Champ and Kalamazoo Model One clones I've made, a Hoffman 18w Stout I built using a '50s OT, and a 1.5 watt tube Firefly head I made... and the Vox AC30 clone I built - when its in half power (15w) mode.

I am TOTALLY digging my new ZT Amplifiers Lunchbox. It is very small, wieghs 9lbs, has 200 watts with 6.5" speaker. It is ridiculously loud and works great with pedals. I have used it on several gigs with my Tele. It reminds me of a tweed Champ with the power of a pair of 6L6's.

My small amps are a Carvin Vintage 16, used it on every gig since I got it, it's a real sleeper of an amp, mine has a Vintage 30 speaker and JJ tubes, this seems to make a real difference in the sound.

The other small amp I got just this weekend, it's a Univox U-45B, all original, with it's funky 6BM8 pre-power tubes. Plug in my telly and it sounds like all those old blues records. Not loud enough for stage work, unlike the Carvin, but will be great for practice and studio work.

Big amp is a HRDX, so believe me, I've never really been a "big amp" guy... too loud!!!!
