Really stupid question

What do 'Speed' and 'Intensity' do, specifically on a Twin Reverb?

Thanks

It refers to the tremelo (which is a volume-based flutter). The speed is how fast it goes, and the intensity is how close to zero the volume goes.

Tim's answers are good but I would add that intensity is how deep sounding the tremelo is, when set to minimum, you can't hear it at all, when set to 10, it's very pronounced-sounding; really gets your blood pumping....

Since it was something you had to ask about, you need to have the footswitch (or a shorted RCA plug) plugged in on the back of the amp for the tremolo to work.

I wondered why the knobs weren't doing anything...

Good thing my Twin came with a nice little footswitch...
