New (old) amp in the house
A buddy dropped off a Silvertone 1482 I had "fixed" for him a few years back (just needed a new preamp tube). He said I can have the amp for free, but "it needs to be fixed again."
Fuse = good. Lights up = good. Was about to try a tube swap when I noticed the rectifier was barely plugged in. Pushed it in and BAM - fixed :) So far it looks to be all original, so a recap (6V6 bypass and the triple cap can should be easy enough) and a 3 prong power cord looks to be all it needs. It is a might dark, perhaps "creamy" is a better word. It looks to be because they left off preamp bypass caps, likely to reduce gain since this thing is a mite nasty right off the bat. 1. I have to fight the urge to tinker since this isn't a homebrew and I don't want to mess with it's mojo - but I might put a bypass on one input's triode, maybe a bright cap on a channel's volume pot. IDK. 2. I am also tempted to swap the speaker (looks to be original, plain metal, square magnet cover - would that be a Fisher?), but again if I didn't build it, I prefer leaving them as their ugly old selves for mojo's sake. I've got a dozen other amps including a 5E3 which is similar in some ways, but this is already finding places in my head for some tracks I've done and am currently working on... the sound is cool and I've got other amps for other things, so perhaps I can live with the warts. Nails that brittle Kinks sound dead on. I pulled out my slide guitar (Tele in Open G) and fed it a P-90 Les Paul... so far, very cool - best with Volume and Tone on 10 (nice jumpered as well).

It's anywhere from a '61 to a '68. It's doubtful it is Danelectro made.
Watts - about 15. Speaker, still not sure, but I'd bet against Jensen. From what I've read so far, it appears it would then be a Fisher, but have heard others claim Utah and others. It sounds very cool. It's one of those weird, unique amps that will become a useful tool in the home studio because it is so unusually distinct.
