Fender M-80 old / new amp pops loud on shutdown

Hi. I just got my "new" 1992 Fender M-80 combo from an Ebay sale. Everything seems to work OK except that when I turn it off it makes a loud "pop" sound. This happens when it is on for a long or a short period of time. Should I be concerned? Also, the first input jack and the power amp input jack seem to work OK but they are missing the metal sleeve insert that the other jacks have. Problem?

Thanks.

try lowering the Volume and Reverb to zero before turning it off.

I think they all pop. Do as udister suggests.
On the inputs see if you can order the parts from a Fender authorized amp shop.

Not unusual for SS. My JC120 has always behaved this way.

Common for SS, yes. Check out Husker Du's "Reoccuring Dreams" for demonstration of how to effectively incorporate this into ending a song.

Isn't that why they named them M-80's? [loudest firecracker I ever heard]

+1 ... I've seen several small Marshall SS combos do this too. Actually ... for the ones I was paying attention to - they all did. It's been awhile though and I'll still turn all knobs to 0 on SS amps just out of habit from tube amps.

EDIT: So yeah - I don't think this is a problem as long as the amp is working. I guarantee you will not blow a tube in that amp!

Yeah, mine are black plastic outside and have a sort of steel "sleeve" insert liner. Seem to wrk witout it, but I'm not sure how long they will last.

Dont know how hard it will be to get to it, never looked inside one of these. Some people think a Hotrod Deluxe is a tough one to get inside of, but I just changed mine out, wasn't bad at all.
