25 or 50 watt weber speakers in a 2x12 cab
Anybody used his stuff in a 2x12 cab? I'm looking at the 12F150's (I guess they used to be called the C12N's). 8 ohms in parallel. Would be pushing em with my '67 bassman 50 watt head through 65 fender bassman closed back cab. trying to get the good old fender sound. will put them in another open back cab if closed back sounds weird.
I like SRV strat sounds and country tele. I'm thinking of going with the two 50 watters for more head room. You can choose 25 or 50 watts when ordering the weber stuff. Any tips would be fantastic. Everybody says he's great to talk to but I haven't received any responses from my emails and he doesn't seem to answer his phone number on his site. His voicemail says he's overwhelmed which i don't doubt. Thanks. Also thinking no doping... |

We have used his 12 inch F150, ceramic Blue Dog, and Silver Bell speakers in a 2x12. Just like you, we needed a 4 ohm load for a Bassman head. Personally I would go with the 50 watt speakers for that head. We have also used his speakers in a 2x12 for a Vox head. He certainly does have a good product. And yes, he can be hard to get hold of. Anytime I have spoken to him was a good experience. It seems that his formula for success involves him being difficult to interface with.
Good Luck |
