My 'Cube is about to Grow!
No, this isn't about some Magic 'Mod...
I own a Roland Cube 20x atm. Thing is, since I started playing electric guitar again, my wife (who has been playing acoustic guitar for about 2 decades) has, regularly, asked me to hand over the amp & play on it (she uses my Tele's with it). Since she handles both my amp & guitars with great care, I'm not reluctant to let her use my gear. Needless to say she's way a better guitar player then I am... Guess that has something to do with expierience... ![]() This weekend she really suprised me, though! This is what she said; "Honey, I know you and I play different styles of music but I'd love to play along with you. Maybe I could teach you some of that chord work you're struggling with, if you'd like. Can I keep this amp? I'm so used to it. You can buy another one like this or some other for, say 200 Euro. I really don't want another amp, I love this one". BAM! There it was... to be honest, I did not expect this! It made me both happy & proud. At first I was a bit ashamed she noticed my chord troubles... but then again, I really appreciate her offer for help! So... I ordered the Cube 30x this weekend. I DID look into other SS/Hybrid modeling combo's (for home use) but none of the ones I found seem to be as reliable nor as intuitive to use as the Roland Cubes. Yup, my 'Cube Grew! for 11 years now. The new Cube arrived today, I'll post some pics of our "Cube Family" tomorrow Of course, I had to try it! I'm already getting some really great sounds out of it. The range of the drive sounds on the lead channel is much broader, guess it will really take some time to discover them. Fun Time! Size does seem to matter, although this speaker still needs to break-in, it already sounds much fuller & richer than the 8" in the 20x. Even more excuse to practice, yah! Needless to say I'm quite happy now... TDR ps. Bluescube, stumbled on the following page today; http://www.schoolmusic.co.kr/Shop/in...d&Good_no=3069 Which one is yours? |
