i'm a Z oddity. i played a carmen ghia though a 1x12 and REALLY didn't like it. It was used...abused tubage?? A maz 18 on the other hand...if i didn't have an Rx i would have the maz. Killer, versital as all get out. there's a Z28 for sale on the bay right now for that kind of cash that sounds pretty interesting as well. hmmmm i guess i'm suggesting if you don't have a z you probably should get one.

if you have a ton of patience you might be able to find the original victoria regal for that much. lots of flexibility with tubes and for the house you can dial it down to 5 watts or so.

Swart...maybe a space tone, which i think is about 5 watts but i was looking for a
"cheap" atomic space tone for a while. For $1200 i really really doubt it and if it pops up it'll be but a blink till it's gone. very nice amps

I've had a Ghia and now own an Clark Beaufort (5e3). They're both fantastic amps. The Ghia has more clean headroom and gets a nice blues tone. The 5e3 has less headroom but has a truly classic distorted tone.

If I had to choose, I'd go with a 5E3, but it just fits my situation/sound better. The Ghia is a GREAT amp both in quality and sound.

You really can't go wrong with either one, imo. My advice is to play both of them as much as you can.

That Rebel is a great amp, super versatile also. I also just played a new Bogner Alchemist 1x12" about $1200, it is Made in China but it is a seriously great sounding amp, especialy with the gain up.

How about this...this discussion is so far out of my reality that, I don't know what you guys are talking about, on any level.
WOW!
My amp is OK.

If you're interested in a 5e3, buy a Lil Dawg and a bunch of beer.

+1

If I had to buy new, it would be a Mesa 5:25 Express with the 12" speaker.

I got a '65 with a vintage 30 that was very clean (still had original cover) for 1225 on ebay, I know thats a pretty good deal but you can for sure get a nice 60 drip edge for 1200.

I LOVE Z Amps, and had a ghia, but it just didnt do it for me, I also have a Mazerati 2-10, which is my main gigging amp

but the princeton is so much fun cranked to 10, and small light and compact, if you don't need too much loud clean headroom, its hard to beat the princeton. I was surprised how loud it is, I know the 12 prb help.

ymmv

Easy. Victoria 20112. If I could find a used one for an extremely good price, I'd also have to sneak a SF Vibro Champ in there as well.

You might be too late. I don't think they're in production anymore.

For $1200, I'd build a D'Lite (22 watt Dumble clone) and have change left over to start a Tweed Deluxe build.
