got an epi valve junior
I've been curious about them for a while and the wife got me one for xmas. Definitely a loud little amp. I'm only able to turn it up about 1/3 of the way most of the time.(close neighbors, etc.) Has a different sound than my SFVC and Champ 600. Compliments them nicely. Seems well built and don't really have any intent to mod it.

Those are good amps.
I got a Gibson Goldtone Les Paul Jr. Amp for Xmas. It's a great little 5-watt amplifier. I tried the Epi, the Champ 600 and the Gretsch 5-watt amp. They're all good class-A amps. Have fun! |

I don't know how similar the circuit is, but I have the Valve Special (5 watt, 1 EL84, 2 12AX7s, 10" speaker) and I REALLY like it.
It's definitely my rehearsal amp. I put a treble booster in front of it, and I get a lot of articulation and very satisfying dirt. It sounds totally amazing with my 2 pickup Dano. |
