Vox Cambridge 2x10
I saw a Vox Cambridge today on craigslist for $150 and I am tempted to buy it. I have a Vox pathfinder which has become by favorite practice amp; it's got a boxy AC15 sound that I like, regardless of the fact that it's solid state. Has anyone tried the Cambridge 2x10 30w amp out yet? How does it compare to a Pathfinder?

I had one a few years ago. The sound was fine, but it was a "tweener". At 30 solid state watts, it was not a loud amp at all, not nearly loud enough for drums. But with two 10" speakers, it was a really big, heavy amp for a bedroom practice amp. I didn't have my AC15 at the time so I couldn't A/B them, but I can tell you it was nowhere near the same league as the AC15 tone-wise or volume-wise. But I think Vox did make a tube version of the Cambridge many years ago, and if that's the model being sold, I'd jump on it in a heartbeat. However, I doubt if anyone is selling a vintage tube Vox at that price.
