How to make REAL good feedback...
Hey guys,
After playing my Bassman more and more I'm actually starting to like it (when overdriven of course), but just wanted to ask how you can acheive the infamous Bassman feedback? (ex: "Foxy Lady") :? ... I've tried digging the head of the guitar into the tolex of the head, but still no success. Any ideas, answers??? thanks guys!!! |

Please excuse me if I'm wrong but I smell something funny.
To answer your question the best thing is to get a hold of a Voodoo Chile Infamous Feedback Pedal. No other box will give you the type of feedback this baby delivers. Also, you need to be pushing your headstock through the grillcloth not the head itself. Good Luck |

Controlled feedback
It's easier to get with some guitars more than others! If I'm using my 335, it's a matter of turning the right way and it will start to howl!. My chambered tele is the best for getting feedback when I want it. Your strat should work well also. The amp needs to be smoking pretty good to get feedback. Instead of putting your headstock by the amp head, try putting the guitar body ( pickups ) near the speaker. When it starts feeding back, move to different positions until you find the sweet spots. You'll find by moving your guitar, or standing in different spots, the fundimental and harmonic notes will start to change. It's much fun and can add quite a bit to your performance. Good luck and have fun!

feedback help
i've seen Adrian Belew rest the edge of his strat headstock on a JC120 combo. with that bassman, try resting on the speaker cab, not the head. you want the vibrations of the speaker cab to interact with the vibrating guitar. i do it all the time, even with a tele!

The Hendrix magic was created with a Fuzz Face and a cranked up Marshall and great vibrato technique (finger, not wang bar) I would recommend one of the bziilion FF clones and stand real close to the speakers...you'll get it just fine.
