Peavey Classic potentiometers
Hi,
I discovered that 4 ( bass, reverb, post, pre) pots of my Classic 50 are crippled, shafts have fatal cracks and are about to entirely break off in any second (the prongs, the top part of the shafts where the chickenhead-knob sits on). I need to replace them asap. So, I have a couple of cuestions: 1) Can somebody tell , what P/N and parameters product are the Classic 50 ( linear/log pots; resistance , manufacturer , etc) 2) can i order the original/identical replacement pots from somewhere? 3) The 4 mentioned (damaged) pots are different material shafts (seems some crappy Al-Si alloy, while all the other look like Aluminioum shafts): Are all the Classic 50 pots identical type/value, or these 4 ones are different? Or there are even more different values ? Thanks, Telbert

If you post this question over at http://forums.peavey.com/, you should have an answer by Monday.
I think those are fairly standard parts, but I'd get the exact part number(s) from Peavey. They might even send you some to Estonia for cheap... Peavey customer service has helped me several times on servicing used gear, years after it's been out of warranty. Not too many companies do that. I've been so happy with my 410, I just picked up a used Classic 50 head. Good luck! |

ok, itīs a little tragicomic already, I cannot even believe it myself:
it is a 2 months old story ( at least ), several contactings already invloved (peavey CS US several times, peavey CS EU several times, Tube Amp Doctor several times, Steve Ahola, peavey CS Cr etc etc). Anyway, the result is pretty "thin" - I still have not got those damn replacement pots. I am getting tired of the situation (and super glue) I am ready to pay some extra (if not even double) price (plus shipping to Estonia, EU) if somebody in US would help me on that matter (minimum what I need is 5 replacemet pots to out of the whole 9 : MIDDLE, BASS, REVERB, POST, PRE , the specs of my amp is on the plate photo below, itīs a 1994 C 50/410 . One scenario would be, that somebody really helpful in US would get those damn things and sell it to a friend of mine through ebay (i still have no account over there myself ) ... ?
