Removed Champ feedback loop - Sweeeeeeet!
After searching this and other forums I took the plunge and clipped the feedback loop on my '66 BF Champ tonight. I am very happy with the result. The amp seems to break up somewhat earlier in a loose and very open and toneful way. At the volume I play (strictly at home for the amusement of me and the babies and even my wife - I think!) the mod was a big improvement to my ears. Thanks again for all that free advice!

If I can do it anyone can . . .
Remove chassis and look inside. You should see three wires connected to the speaker jack. Two of those wires lead to a transformer. The third connects to a resister on the circuit board - clip that wire. Operation complete.
REMEMBER THAT YOUR AMP EVEN UNPLUGGED MAY CONTAIN DEADLY VOLTAGES SO USE CAUTION. |
