sound clips of different tunes played on the ac30cc??????? looking for versitility of the amp-- not just the typical "last dance with mary jane" riff...

Only problem with that clip is, that's not a CC.. it's a 60's AC30.

I think the newer AC30 hand wired amps sound better and the older AC30's sound better and even the re-issue (80s and 90s) sound better than the CC, but maybe I just had a not so good sounding CC?

In my opinion unless you cut that awful bright cap out of the cc, it doesnt sound very good. Once you do that and break in the speakers it gets pretty good. I have a cc and a Korg Reissue. The cc has become my favorite. But you may have had a bad one too.

I recently did A/B the handwired vs the CC and couldn't tell the difference, apart from the price tag.

And looks like Jerry Donahue and Will Ray are playing through Groove Tube Soul-O amps. I've never seen anyone using them before, although I really like them.

I own both an old AC30 and a new AC30 CC. If I set them up behind a curtain so you could not see which was which, plugged my tele into each one and had you play and try to pick which was which you would have a very hard time.
I actually did just that with the other guitar player in my band just for laughs.
Even with a 50 / 50 chance he picked the newer AC30cc as the better sounding amp.

by the way this guy plays through a Dr. Z Stangray so he knows good tone.
