Yes it does, I play in church also and use a HRD. I go from the preout to di box to PA system and use the amp as my monitor. This works very well and if the sound tech needs more signal i can give him all he needs. The only thing is that the preout is before the reverb and presence. Hope this help, the HRD is a good amp.

HRD
No complaints at all from the other band members volume does not go pass 2.5 . I have been using the amp for almost 2 years now and i have had only one problem that got resolved by changing 1 preamp tube. I am even thinking about getting a second one so i can leave one at church and the other for the house and gigs.

Another option
If you're going have to buy a direct box anyway - get a Palmer DI. You can use it in conjunction with a preamp line out or even a speaker level output. It is the best direct box out there, and it is made specifically for guitar amps.
I use one between my amp and my speakers, and it sounds incredible. This way I get the presence and reverb included. I even used it in a praise band at a medium sized church for over a year. They usually run around $100.
