Man, I sure love New Amp Day!

Even better is Day After New Amp Day, when you skip work & sit around playing your guitar all day...

Congratulations!

Enjoy!

What was the first song that you played?

Very cool.

Sara Richter sure makes a nice amp, and packs it well, too.

Thanks, guys!
I have no doubt I made the right choice; the amp is fantastic, and Sara was a pleasure to do business with. Now I have to figure out what else I can sell to get the money together for one of her new Bassman heads!

I played a couple of my usual lame, stiff-fingered minor pentatonic licks... they didn't sound half-bad through the Richter! Then I cranked the volume & tone knobs & played my version of David Lindley's version of Mercury Blues for about an hour.

BobbyB,

Yup, it's a 5E3, and the speaker is one of those new Jensen Tornado Neos...
I'm sure starting to understand why you guys are always raving about your 5E3's!

Man, I am played out from today! I spent all day playing with the new amp, finally shut it off to have dinner & watch some TV. Before I finish eating, a couple of buddies call & invite me over to jam; Heck, I gotta go so I can see how the 5E3 sounds with other guitars!

When I get there, one guy is playing through a Bogner half-stack, and the other guy is playing through an Orange Rockerverb 50 head & 2x12 cab... they're LOUD, and they're playing "surf metal." Their jaws dropped, though, when I cranked the Richter and hit my first chord; we played for a couple of hours, and the amp held it own just fine. Plus, it was much easier to carry to the car than their rigs!

Whats your take on the Tornado speaker? Those are fairly new and I have not seen much chatter about them yet.

The low end on the Tornado is not quite as tight as the regular Neo, but the Tornado is warmer & has a bit of "British flavor" to it; it sounds like a cross between a regular Jensen Neo & a Celestion Blue. So far, I'm very glad I went with it.
