Relay for channel switch in PTP amp?

I've been looking around on www.mouser.com trying to see if I see an appropriate relay to use for channel switching in an amp I'm building... I'm figuring I'd wanna use the 6.3VAC heater leads as power for the thing, and I didn't see too many that use a voltage that low. Is there a particular one you guys recommend?

If you use a voltage doubler, your choices for relays are many. *HINT* If you use a relay rated for 12VDC, you can be safe from slight low line-voltage situations.

finding small relays with 6V coils is not a problem...keep looking; they're out there. Omron, Fuji, Matsu****o....they all make them.

personally, i wouldn't use a realy for switching.....they're too slow. the "rise time" on the coil, added to the "transition time" is substantial in the world of audio....certainly detectable as a "dropout" during the switching.

plus, if you don't buffer properly you run the risk of an annoying pop...

personally, i'd do it with transistors, but...hey....i'm retired! i don't have to do it at all anymore!!!

Oh, the parent company of Mitsumi? :-D They make (or rather, re-label) CD-ROM drives and CD-RW drives.

Sooo... Transistors... Mouser would have those, I assume. Any linkage to info on how to wire those in and which ones would be applicable?
