Did anybody here buy a '57 Tweed Bandmaster on eBay?
Hey guys, I'm new here. I'm hoping that someone here may be able to help me out. I know it's a long shot, but here it goes.
About five years ago I sold an all original '59 3x10 Bandmaster to a Gentleman in Alexandria, Louisiana. Shortly thereafter, said Gentleman bought another Bandmaster, a re-tweeded '57. He had all speakers in both amps reconed. A while later (about one or two years ago now), he sold the '57 on ebay. Recently he offered to sell the '59 back to me, and I jumped at the chance. I took the '59 home and, upon closer inspection I found that the amp now has a matching set of pristinely beautiful P10Rs, all with matching mid '57 date codes. The previous owner evidently got the two sets of speakers mixed up. So, to make a long story short, someone out there has a '57 re-tweeded Bandmaster with a matching set of late '59 P10Rs that accidentally went into the wrong amp. This is not a BS story, if you have that amp, please contact me and let's consider exchanging prisoners. The '57s are in great shape down to the paper UL stickers, better actually than the '59s were if memory serves. It could be a win/win for both of us. Pictures available. Please, if you could, spread the word. Thanks! Hogy |
