Tweed 2X10 Super Reissue....
Have any of you converted your Reissue '59 Bassmans'
into 2X10 Tweed Supers? ALSO, does anybody remember the guy's name who had the eyelet boards for doing the transfer from P.C.B.?

not sure who it was that came up here that could do the ptp boards but if you go to www.hoffmanamps.com you'll see a list of people that make his boards. i would go with mike at the tone zone. wonderful guy. but as far as making a board, you can do it. shoot, i have everything here, i could do it for you. but if you don't want to go with mike, just look at the list of "approved" builders and find the guy closest to you and/or the cheapest price.

Quite a different beast
The circuit of a tweed Super (5F4) differs substantially from that of a '59 Bassman (5F6-A). A "conversion" would be a complex endeavor, involving output transformer, tone circuits, negative feedback loops, and more.

Guys, I just wanna hybrid it into
a 2X10 Bassman. I can't sell this to anyone and maintain
a clear conscience until I rip that board out...It sounds as crappy today as when I picked it up from my friend Ed's store 13 years ago. At least I've got a lifetime supply of really great tubes for my "Fender" amplifiers. Ya ever wonder who the prime architect of the "if Leo was alive today" philosophy was????? Here's one for THAT GUY from stantheman: "If Forrest White were alive today you'd be collectin'." 8)

2x10 Super
Sounds like a cool project. Where are ya going to get the cabinet? If you added a multi tapped O.T. when you do the board, you could drive external cabs w/ it.
For a while now I've been thinking of adding a Hoffman board to my Bassman but have been debating the benefits vs. cost... |

O.K. the board change over
makes a HUGE difference. Harpist Jimmy C. of Jimmy C.
& The Real Deal owns a reboarded Bassman and it has the "REAL BASSMAN TONE" not that anemic, arthritic sonic feces that a "flock of suits" conceived in a boardroom somewhere in North America. The board makes ALL the difference in the world, my reissue 4X10 Bassman was on the same stage at Harper's Ferry and Keith James White was performing and I thought "geez my amp's tone IS great - it's all in my head"; then I looked and realized that sound was coming through Jimmy C's "reboarded" reissue. The difference IS night and day. I keep having this nightmare that Fender's amp execs tear off the "MISSION IMPOSSIBLE" face masks and they're all Yamaha guys...
