Dr.Z mini Z or Tiny Terror... or?
All - I am looking to retire my 1960 Gibson GA-8T as my practice amp and I'm looking for recommendations. I'm not totally locked in on these two but I like the low wattage. Any thoughts? What about a 1-12 speaker cab that can be either closed back or open?
Thanks! CG |

I am also looking at small, low watt EL84 heads, preferably single-ended. So I am curious about the Bad Cat Mini. Anyone tried that one? It got mixed reviews, but I think mainly cuz they sold mostly combo versions with the wimpy and ill-matched Jensen P10R.
Edited to add that there was a recent thread on another forum where I surprised to see some very mixed reviews on the Mini Z: http://fenderforum.com/forum.html?db...-07-2708:25:05 |

I've tried a Tiny Terror. It has the nice option of running at 15 watts in case you ever need it for a gig. It was pretty much a good rock amp. I didn't really care for its clean tone very much. It also wasn't all that quiet.

I've mod'd an Epi Valve Jr to the Mini Z schem, adding the bigger Weber OT. Just a great amp - practice, recording, and sometimes for performance.
