Gorillia S&H

Yesterday I ordered a Peavey Winsdor Studio from one of the major online retailers (no names will be given to project the innocent and guilty). I opened the box, removed the packinging material, took hold of the handle, pulled up, and only the top half of the amp came out. The rest was in the box. The thing was broken in two. Not only that, the power tranny was all ****-eyed and both preamp tubes had fallen out shattered on the on the bottom of the cab. Remarkably, the power tube "looked" fine, but I wouldn't trust it. But I did discover that Peavey shipped this one with 2 JJ's, the EL 34 and one of the 12AX7's (the other was an Electro-Harmonix). Quite a change from the Sovteks that I've been used to in new Peaveys. Then again, I don't know if the replacement will be be so equipped, but I'll find out tomorrow.

You have to give them credit. Someone worked really hard to break it like that. Maybe they even got a tendonitis.
Thats why they invented Gorilla Glue.
Man I am so sorry for you

This is only my second bad experience with receiving musical equipment ordered online. The retailer in this case is being very gracious, sending me a replacement amp without requiring the broken one being returned first. That wasn't the case with a different retailer several yers ago. It took nearly two weeks to finally get what I'd ordered from them AFTER returning the damaged item I'd received. In the case of this amp, I'd bet anything it was dropped either at the warehouse or the shipping company's loading dock, given the overall state of the poor thing. It fell, and fell a good way before hitting the deck. My money would be on the shipper, since the retailer physically inspects everything just prior to it leaving their warehouse. I've personally watched them do it.

Boubou, maybe a vat of Gorilla Glue would do the trick.

What a waste. Good thing that wasn't an original Tweed something-or-other.

+1 on that. I'd still be weeping.
