Here is a new demo of the new Princeton Reverb ri

Sounds good to me no pedals either just guitar and amp. I was surprised it broke up this nice.

It loads a little slow so give it awhile.

Got any clean sounds and some use of the tremolo too?

It has some good reverb sound or where you not using the reverb?

Impressive. That was nice breakup, especially for a Fender without a pedal. I'm guessing it was dimed?

I may be in the minority, but I thought it sounded a bit thin pushed. I asked Eric on the FDP, and he said he had the bass on 2 because otherwise everything in the room would shake. He also said the amp was dimed with the guit vol backed off a bit. Didn't sound very loud to me.

Not sure. It might just be the new speaker, or the recording - but in both those cases I thought that amp sounded a bit thin and boxy. I'd have to hear it with a Tele cranked, but that Les Paul is hardly high-gain pickups and it didn't really stand out for punch or crunch to me.

The Tele jazz was nice - tremolo? Not sure - it doesn't seem as transparent as my SF. Same with the reverb.

Maybe it just needs the speaker broken in - no doubt there's more nuance in person and not crappy MP3 compression as on you tube.

...I wonder...

...since Fender's bought "Groove Tubes",will all re-issues,this one included,be out-fitted with premium tube sets???...I've heard, from a knowledgeable source, that putting a Celestion 10" in the new Princeton Reverb, and a good set of tubes, makes the amps perform quite nicely...while they won't convince most of us that steadfastly believe in the '60's BF PtoP "Mojo",they certainly are an affordable alternative to the originals...

Sounds just like a Tele with a BF Fender. What are we expecting here? Nice amp, nice sound. That would float through real nice with some fat sounds around it, don't you think?

Back in 2002 the DRRI I had was purchased brand new with Groove Tubes, so I thought they were standard with new Fenders for quite a while - no?

There's nothing "premium" about Fender's Groove Tubes. don't fall for the hype and BS.

Plus 1. Groove tubes was nothing more then company that bought tubes from the other manufactures and re-label them and sold them as a mark up.

+2 Best thing I ever did to my Pro Jr or my Crate VC3112 was to change out the Groove Tubes for something better. I avoid Groove Tubes at all costs now. I never realized how bad they were until I tried something else.

Mark, sounds like a good matchup of guitar & amp to me.

Can someone tell me what the name of the song in the second clip is? I've always liked it & never knew the name.

Sounds like a version of Sleepwalk, or something close to it....

It's not possible to make any kind of accurate guess of how loud ANY amp is when recorded, particularly through a videocamera microphone! Stick a mic on it and you can make even a Champ sound huge, or a 100-watt plexi Marshall stack sound tiny...

Cheers, Tim

The one I tried out this weekend sounded pretty fantastic combined with a Paisley Tele. The reverb was nice and lush but not "dripping" although I didn't have it turned up too high.
The tremelo sounded pretty good- I played a little "Born On The Bayou" with it on.

I can't say anything bad about it and was surprised that it sounded so good. I did crank it up and it got pretty loud.

Too bad I just bought a vintage Princeton or else I wouldn't hesitate in picking one of these up. Sam Ash has them for $799.00. BTW

I bought the PRRI and it's plenty loud. Enough for a small club for sure. It's not thin sounding at all. In fact, I'd call the cleans "Lush". Sounds fantastic with every guitar I own (7) HB's and Single Coils. Best out of the box Amp I've ever tried for sure.

Don't try to judge the sound from a Video Recording. It's not close.

It's kinda crazy judging an amp by listening to a video on a computer. Just go to a store and try it out yourself.
