Fender Bronco? Fender Hot Rod Deluxe 50th Anniversary?

Hello

Can anyone impart any info about these two amps? Specs etc etc......I have a chance to pick up the Bronco for $20 but it apparently doesn't power up. Any info, experience, or pics are greatly appreciated!

Check it out on eBay. There are at least 2 different types of Broncos..... a vintage silverface type that is tube and very similar to a VibroChamp in features. The other is a solid state tweed reissue that is probably what you've got coming to ya.....

Can add much other than the Hot Rod DeLuxe was a little bit of a let down for me.....I just couldn't get it to sound good with single coils..it wasn't bad sounding....But to my ears it lacked warmth.....Hummers it did alright,I guess.

It works for alot people though.Just not for me.

That solid state tweed reissue has got to be THE brightest, ice-pickiest guitar amp in history - even setting the treble pot on "1" on the scale makes it unbearably bright, you have to actually turn the treble pot completely down to make it only half useable...

Why not buy it for the tweed chassis and building something cool out of it?

Too small to fit a speaker bigger than an 8", closed back cab (not the best option for a tube amp...) - not a good modding project!
