Li'l Dawg 5E3 in the house

I did well on the sale of my Brown Vibroverb RI, so....
Uh, huh!
Stock wattage (12?), Better Built deep cabinet, JJ tubes (same as on stock tube chart...no 6L6's or anything), Weber 12A125.
Very sweet and a great companion to my '56 Deluxe.
The cabinet is beautiful...lacquered and totally sanitary workmanship.
This amp definitely has its own personality.
My Deluxe has had all new electrolytics within the past 2 years and recent JJ tubes.
The only difference is the RCA rectifier tube and Weber 12A150 in the Deluxe.
The new amp sounds killer and definitely has its own personality.
The Bright channel is definitely louder and brighter than the Deluxe, but the Normal channel (that I use for beautiful clean tones) is not as bright as the Deluxe.
It's fun to A/B the 2 amps.
I'll have to post an update when the speaker is fully broken in and I've gigged it.
Also...Jim is amazing to deal with... I asked so many questions and he was totally gracious about my attempts to turn him into my email slave.
I doubt Clapton gets much better service when he buys an amp.

Awesome! Now that you've got a nice new Deluxe, I can take that ratty ol' one off your hands if you're interested.

Nice amp Charlie! I just got a 8W Champster from Jim and a 12" Better Built cab also! Haven't mounted a speaker in it yet but have been running it into 2 1x12 cabs loaded with 12" Celestion Golds! YEOW!!!

I know you're lovin' it. I just hope I can hold out for a while before ordering a D-lux. btw I replaced the metal "feet" on the cab with a set of rubber ones from the local ACE hardware for about $2.39.(I noticed the mat under yours)

I put those felt pads on mine, like you would your chairs.

What I do need is some TALL feet for my outboard reverb that will sit on top.
The handle on the BB cabinet is very thick.

I've got a very similar amp. The same builder, cabinet and chassis; the biggest difference is that mine has the 25-watt O.T. and an Eminence Red Fang. You're really on the mark about Jim's service, he's absolutely first rate to deal with.

These Li'l Dawgs are tremendous amps and I've hardly played through any of my others since getting mine.

Enjoy your amp, it looks great.

I have a Lil Dawg D'Lux 35 watter. It is probably one of the best amps I have ever played. Also, Jim is first rate, answers all my questions, and build is top notch. I will buy from him again.
