Princeton and Pedals: is there a danger of damaging your amp?

How advisable is it to use an overdrive pedal like the Voodoo Labs Sparkle Drive with a 70's or 60's Princeton. Is there a danger of blowing something?

I have always used overdrive or distortion pedals with Fender amps..... So far, my SF Princeton Reverb has complimented every pedal I can throw at it.

I currently use an original Bixonix Expandora to drive mine.....

Sometimes, it's full on distortion, tremelo, delay, wah..... and my amp is almost always dimed..... it works beautifully. I would make sure that your amp has had it's electrolytic capacitors replaced in the last 15 years or so..... that would be my only concern.

I thought of my '68 Princeton Reverb as a foundation for a lot of different sounds. It was very pedal friendly.

If there was a danger, my 64 would have died a long time ago.

In theory, speakers don't like the square-ish waves produced by heavy distortion or fuzz. But don't let that stop you!

Danger Will Robinson!
I plugged a pedal into my 78 PR and it exploded....killing everyone in the club. It was bad.
