Why does my '74 Pro Reverb go thunk...

...when I flick the standby switch - either direction - on or off?

Grateful for any advice.

Thanks

Carling Switches

Robin,

The standby switch has a carbon buildup on the contacts that cause it to arc when being engaged or disengaged. You can minimize the effect on the speakers by turning your volume down before throwing the switch. The only CURE is to replace the switch.

Re: Carling Switches

Sorry to hijack this thread, but...

Big Cookie, you need to call Brewmaster about the amp he sent you in July. He and a couple of others have had no luck trying you by phone or e-mail. At this point he just wants his amp back. Happy Holidays.
