gig: marshall takes a nose dive and never misses a beat!
played a gig this weekend. 2nd to last song, and i backed onto the instrument cable going to my old Marshall JMP 2204 head. It tilted forward and took a nose dive off the 4x12 cab landing face down.
I felt the thud. Well the amp didn;t miss a beat. no cables unplugged. kept on cranking as usual. when there was a lull in the the song, I took the opp. to pick her up and set her back on the perch.. needless to say I was very happy. Gotta love solid trusty old amps. Takes a lickin'; and keeps on KICKIN'! (knockin; on wood) Lesson for me is to be a bit more careful and reroute my cable so this wont happen again. That's Rock n Roll for ya!! it wa sa rockin; show. We played better than ever besides that mishap. |

Good thing
Your drummer wasn't crushed. Is the head as heavy as it sounds, oh, and full or half stack?

ehh. John could handle it. He's a tough bloak.
nah he was spared. 1/2 stack. so it only fell 1 story -- so-to-speak. FWIW, this was my 3rd gig with this band. and before that I hadn't gigged in 8yrs. so i am still getting my gigging sea-legs back. I now remember i need to route my intrument cable in a way that it will be out of the way. in order to avoid stuff like this happening. I was lucky this time, but maybe not the next. anyhow, I also think my drummer jinxed me earlier in the week. |
