Chaining two amps

I can hook my two amps together in two ways:
either use my Traynor ycv40s effect loops "send" and then chain
via the input of my Vibrochamp.
Or, plug the guitar in the vibroīs first input, then chain the amps
between the Fenders second input and the Traynors input.

I like the sweet treble the Vibrochamp add to the Traynor.

Is any of the described ways to be prefered electronically,
can I harm the amps?
(as it is now, it sounds best to go through the Vibro first. the signal
from the Traynors send jack is almost to strong to let through the Fender)
Thanks,

if it sounds good to your ears (and you're not using a speaker output jack --badbadbad-- to send the signal to the 2nd amp) you're probably fine...simply go with the hook-up that sounds better. i would probably go thru the vibro champ first also, so the preamp of the other amp wouldn't color the champ tone...

the thread title caught my attention cause i've been reading up on this lately since i'm going to a two amp setup for stage use...i'll have to use a switch system (framptone or lehle dual) to tame phase/ground issues and keep the signal buffered, BUT in your case the patch cord thing seems to be working out...it sounds like you've got a sweet sounding rig there!!!

Thanks for your answer Rusty.
Yeah, I do prefer going through the vibrochamp first.
I suppose I was just lucky with this particular set-up,
usually this canīt be done without to much noice and grounding
problems...
I know the solution should be a Lehle. Just have to
adjust myself to the relative expense I suppose...

... and I did!
Bought a Lehle p-split. What a wonderful piece of equipment!
No tone degradation, at least not to my ears.
Should have gotten it long ago. Highly recommended.
