I've done that to mine, and I know several others who have. If you love the sound of your amp now, leave it. If you think the Neodog speaker sounds a bit cold and harsh and doesn't have the shimmering magic and three-dimensionality that is the 'normal' Vox tone through Celestion Blues, the Celestion Gold gives you pretty much that same tone as the Blues but in a 1x12 package. It does take a long time to break in, it'll warm up and sound more open after about 50-100 hours of loud playing.

A CD player could help it break in sooner, but it has to be LOUD and has to go on over a long time.
