Celestion G12L-35
Hello to you all.
Anyone here help please? I'm looking at the above mentioned speaker to be used as a single unit in a Tweed Deluxe type of setup. I've read a few reviews about using as 2x12 or 4x12 but uable to find anything about 1x12. Understand they are 35 watts. Also currently using an Alphatone 100 watt which is way too loud and efficient. So I'm hoping the G12L-35 will be better. Anyone offer an insight into these? Thanks in advance. I don't know about using them in a 1x12, but my Marshal 4x12 cabinet has them. I like them a lot and the light magnet makes it a little easier on the back when dragging the big cab around. They are 35 watts, which I think is a nice handling capacity. They can handle moderate amounts of power, but you can really drive them if you want to. However, I'm not sure if it's the right speaker for a Fender tweed-type amp. It's a very Marshally sounding speaker. If I wanted to put a Celestion in a Deluxe, I'd probably go with a more vintage sounding speaker like a Blue or a Greenback. When I use my AC15 as a head and push the four G12L-35s, it's pure AC/DC. If that's the kind of thing you're looking for, then go for it. Either way, it's a good sounding, low cost Celestion that you can try and swap out if it's not your thing.
