Amp repair/ maintenance books...

"how to service your own tube amp" by Tom Mitchell, covers all the basics.

thereafter look for PDF files of a book by Jack Darr online.

I am still a newbie and have found these two to be easy entrance. Some will recommend the tube amp book by Dave Hunter, for me it does not cover basic electronic stuff like the Mitchell book well enough. You will have to also do online reading though as none of these books give you full picture, mostly just a pie slice you have to relate to the whole.

I have heard so much positive about the Darr book that I ordered a new one....$33.93 shipped.
The Tome Mitchell book is a very good book for those of us who are not formally trained EE's. I like the Dave Funk book also. Great info and the best Fender Schematics that I have seen. My first book was Aspen Pittman's Tube amp book... good general information. Gerald Weber's "Desk Reference' was acquired before I got the Tom Mitchell book. It is useful in some aspects....moreso than the PIttman imo....less than the Mitchell, Funk or the Darr, I am sure.
The Randall Aiken site is full of great information.....Aiken Amps...google it.
