A while back I posted about a 40's Weber Chicago amp i had acquired. I have a schematic for it but Im not too good a schematics. I want to rebuild this amp completely and put in all new caps and resistors and cloth wire while keeping all the sockets and iron and ot. are there any tricks to creating a layout diagram from a schematic? Any help wopuld be appreciated. BTW my vibro champ kit should arrive today!!!! can's wait...

Get a copy of the "RCA Receiving Tube Manual", and study the "Installation" section. Also, for the ground bus I always used a length of stripped # 12 AWG solid copper wire, run lengthwise from left to right in the chassis, isolated and supported on standoffs. You can make nifty twisted pair wiring by putting two lengths of # 20 AWG wire in the chuck of a drill motor and slowly turning it.
Have fun, it gets easier the more of this work you do.
