Electar Tube 10 mods revisited
I dusted of my little Electar earlier and after plugging it in I got reminded of why it was at the bottom of a pile in the corner. It sounds like doo-doo.
Mine has this terrible muddiness that I just can't get out. I EQ it with the Bass and Mids at "0" and the treble at "9" and it's still way too muddy for anything but the bridge pickup. I've been through countless preamp tubes, both new and NOS and a double handful of 6L6's, not to mention running it through a 2X12 cab and I just can't get it any better. I tried searching around for any mods that would help me get rid of the mud, but all I could find was dead links. If anybody has some of the mods that were going around for this thing, I would appreciate it if you'd relay 'em my way. Thanks |

Thanks Rob, but a totally new circuit is a bit more than i'm willing/able to do. Go ahead and sned me the other mods when you get a chance.
BTW, do you have an accurate stock shem for the Electar, so I can compare it with the Baby Bassman schem? If I remember right, there was one available online but I've heard several folks say it was wrong. Thanks for your help. |
