Is this really an original Champ?

This is on ebay Germany. English text starts about halfway. Was there really a 1964 black tolex reissue of the 50's narrow panel tweed Champ?

Cheers,

J.J.

transitional Champs

I've seen some black tolex covered Tweed style Champs, they were original.
Fender didn't waste anything, guess they had plenty of Tweed style Champ cabs and chassis so they just covered them in tolex and sold them till they started making the BF style Champs.

Black Tolex 64's do exist

There were cabs and chassis to be used, the change was made in 64 after the old stock was used up. I guess they ran out of tweed cloth first.
