can't really beat tweed for vintage style. I like black and brown fine too.

I think they all look good, even silverface, because uncountable bands used them in the late '60s when I was just starting to play and see bands live, and they represent my first memories of seeing "good" amps in person.

Tweed is a classic look. I also like non-traditional styles too.
There's something very classy about BF amps. Browns looked cool new, but the aging of them don't flatter them. The brown era cosmetics still make me happy, since I know most browns sounded good from what was under the hood. I think SF's are ugly, but I'd still buy/use one :) Blondes are very cool and classy too. |

Tweed and Oxblood. But I've had them black and brown over the years. The Blues Custom 30 I got has a nice retro look, what with the piping and wicker grill cloth.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder...
I remember when blackface amps started to appear and everybody wanted one instead of a brown. Then everybody wanted a pre-CBS Fender amp. But when I saw the silver-face amps I thought the blackface looked old and out-moded. Shows to go ya.

Is this strictly Fender amps?? I'm a big fan of 40's-50's art deco amps....Ampro, Premier, University, tweed Gibsons....that sort of thing.

i agree with Crash that the brownies don't age well (i've got one), but they sure sound good. what makes my heart skip a beat is the sight of an ancient, dogeared, road-worn tweed!

I know you aren't, but as far as the sound is concerned, it's hard to beat any of these amps for what they do. |

As far as looks is concerned, my favorite is an early SF w/drip edge. It just looks classy to me.
I also love the brown/beige era Fenders. And then the tweeds... Gee - I dunno.... I like 'em ALL!
