You'd probably want something ceramic if the stock ones aren't doing it for you. Not sure what I'd try for ceramic. Maybe some CRexes ... bet they'd do very well with the copious bass you cant get out of the amp. Might also try Weber Cali paperdomes, and/or the Legend 12" from Emminence.
The stock speakers sure are not feeling farty to me. First time I used mine on stage we got yelled at for volume. Amp was half way up, guitar not all the way up. Big bouncy sound, and yes loud. But not mushy in the least, at least with single coils. This is one impressive amp. |

What is your setup? I noticed that if I have my compressor too high (the sustain knob on a two-knob keeley) the low end will sound farty. With the compressor set pretty low or completely off the sound is far from farty. To me, it seems like this amp has a huge low end (maybe too much so) that is very crisp. I have only played a tele through mine on the normal channel and keep the volume on 3-4.

I play mine on 6 and have no problems. I recently switched from the Bassmans because the 12's seem to hold together better at higher volumes. Not farty at all. Best amp I have ever owned and I've owened them all at some point.

Aren't those supposed to have Weber designed Eminence speakers in them?
Perhaps you could describe your problem in greater detail. Also the guitar, pickups, FX, and music style you play. Otherwise, suggestions will be all over the place. |

Yeah those are the Weber designed 12A150A Light Dope. I never had a problem with speaker in my Pro Reverb.
What are your amp settings?
