real awesome, beautiful, majestic 2x12" clean twang

hi folks,
i posted last week that i found a silverface pro reverb and bought it. it came back from the tech with some minor repairs and new tubes. i hauled the amp to the rehearsal-place and my mind got blown. this 2x12" clean sound that can be played on such an amp with the telecaster was for me like looking at the mount everst for the first time. took me 10 minutes to decide, that i need no overdrive pedal anymore. there is no way to hide behind the cruch, but that is no big deal. you just have to play less and let the soundscapes take place in the room. incredible. took me only 30 years to find this out. now i know why some folks take the pain of carrying heavy 2x12 fender amps around. i will get a handcart asap. itīs all worth it.

Eddie, it does a soul good to finally hear what their ears have been seeking. Good for you.

if that amp donīt surf, i got no idea which amp will. the reverb is so lush, it stars surfing round 5, a bit more and you get wiped out. fantastic. itīs not called pro reverb for nothing. you can play a supersimple melody, throw in some chords and there you go. or play misirlou! i guess our friend wickedguitar would like that amp a lot.

Eddie, I recently learned another trick on these reverb Fenders...I can't remember if it was here on the tDPRI or somewhere else.
AThe two channels of these Fender reverb amps are out of phase. This makes chaining the two channels together problematic....except if you want to use the tremolo. Plug into the Vib Ch 1 with your guitar, use a cord to go from that #2 input to #1 of the Normal channel. Turn on the tremolo effect. This creates not just a volume fluctuation in the vibrato channel, but also a strange phasing thing between the channels since when the Vib ch is 'down' on volume during the trem cycle, the phase thing is negated and the Norm Ch is strong. Check it out.
