drri bright cap

Well i obtained a drri and last night i snipped the bright cap.. Very nice.. Only took me like ten minutes from start to finish.. Just wondering if anyone else has done it and what they thought ..

I have always removed the bright cap on my BFDRs - I really don't need it with the JBLs I use.

On my workhorse BFDR, I installed a push-pull volume pot switch. When pulled out, the bright cap is back in circuit. Over the last 22 years I think I have used it about 4 times.

It might make more sense with other speakers, but not with the JBL!

I'm also a big fan of making the bright cap switchable. Even if you don't use it much, it comes in handy if you have a dark-sounding guitar among your flock.
