Raul Malo (former front man for the Mavericks) has two VS112P's (Princetons) two VS112's (Deluxe Reverb) & two VS410's (Super Reverbs). Email him through his myspace if you have questions. He will be happy to reply.

I like this gem from the website:

"All amps are point-to-point hand-wired for maximum headroom and warm, smooth reliable operation."

At some point, you have to question whether the person who wrote this blurb even knows what it means.

It means that the amps are built by hand using the best parts available with solid core push back wire, Sprague Electrolytics & Filter caps, Orange Drop Tone caps, Carbon comp Resistors, Groove Tubes, Black Face Finger Jointed Pine cabs by MOJO, Black Face Hand wound Transformer sets by Mercury Magnetics, & Weber speakers. Professional Musicians like Raul Malo, Danick Dupell (with Emerson Drive) & David Wallace (with Jake Ownes) know what it means and all tour with Vintage Sound Amps.

Because the way it is written indicates that a PTP amp yields more clean headroom and a product whose reliability is warm and smooth. If you show me that line, knowing nothing else about vintagesound, it sounds like someone jammed a bunch of buzz words into a sentence.

Quite honestly, I thought the long version about the components, etc was more convincing.

to me, it meant that the amps were hand wired PTP to specifically yield the tonal characteristics that the "line" described. As opposed to them being PTP hand wired to achieve minimal headroom and bright , distorted operation.

I have a good friend who has a Vintage Sound vs410 and it is an incredible amp. clean tone with more touch sensitivity than any blackface amp I have ever played. One of the best 2 or 3 amps I have ever played. If your looking for an authentic blackface super reverb, this thing is like one of the best ones you can find.Only with reliable new parts!

anybody notice how many homegrown amp and guitar makers are in Florida.
I used to live there waaaaaaay back, hated it fully. Now i'm into guitars and amps, wanting to learn to build for myself, and look where some of these quality fellas are.
ha !!!!
