I've got half of an opinion
I played through a Max Jr. and it was a killer little amp, loud, well-made and nice-sounding with a Telecaster. I suspect the same would be true of the Route 66. I guess the reason nobody's chiming in is that these are both fine amps, and whichever one sounds better to you is the one you ought to buy.

both are good ,but
for a roots rock sound the 66 is great, blues breaker type of sound , with more .
I like warm amps , sustain, this is , just that, touch sensitive etc. the maz jr. is a bright tight amp , and very good , more clean . the 66 gets my vote . |

I never warmed up to the Maz-Jr. and have never played a Route 66 Reno

I own both but have no idea which one is better. They are just different.
The RT66 is louder at +30watts. Somewhat "darker" but not muddy. Is starts out FAT and just gets fatter. You have to push it kinda hard for some dirt but it sounds amazing from low levels. This amp LOVES pedals. Doesn't matter what I put in front of it, it just eats them all. No ice-picks or shrill highs but still a "complex" sound. Bass is tight as could be. The MAZ jr is a VERY versatile little amp. For a 2*EL84 amp it's loud. Closer to 22-24 watts. Full eq section plus reverb. Somewhere in the BF Fender/Vox vein but with a Z twist. Solid and clear bass even with my combos 10" speakers. If you find it harsh with some guitars, just reach for the CUT knob. It's the key to this amp. You can dial in THE spot for the guitar used. I recommend both of them. Depends what you are looking for. They both have their own niche. Once's you are bitten by the Z bug there's no turning back!
