deluxe reverb reissue fuse keeps blowing
my deluxe reverb reissue fuse keeps blowing every time I switch to standby just before switching off. the correct fuse to use is f1a 250 volt, and i've just discovered the fuses i've been using are f1,6L 250 volts.
is this the problem or is something else causing the fuses to blow? needless to say i'm going to get the correct fuses asap! |

By all means get the properly rated fuse. I don't bother with turning the amp to STandby before shutting down. I simply put both switches in the 'off' position simultaneously. That said, you should be able to switch to STandby anytime you please. You could have a bad standby switch that is arcing.

cheers, i've now got the correct fuse in, it still blew, I took out the power tubes and the rectifier tube, then replaced the fuse and the amp lit up.
I then put the "rectifier tube only" back in, powered up and the fuse blew! i'm waiting on another 5ar4 before I can try to solve the problem, any more ideas if a new 5ar4 don't fix it???? |

there is a simple device you can assemble in a few minutes at a cost of a dollar or two that can help you troubleshoot your amp. check this thread:
http://www.tdpri.com/forum/amp-centr...urrent+limiter look at the links posted in there for diagrams how the limiter is assembled. |
