Gibson GA15RV Combo Offer
I had someone offer me a Gibson GA15RV on Gearpage for my aerodyne tele (mij, great condition, vintage case, pro setup, stock pickups).
What are your thoughts those of you who have used these amps? It's a made in UK version (from what I hear a bit brighter). I'm looking for a great clean to boost with my pedals. I play at Church mainly. Anyone with experience with these, your input is appreciated. |

That amp was originally designed by Trace Elliot, who was gobbled up by Gibson. It was known as the Velocette, and was a really great, very Vox-flavored amp. Lots of chime and sparkle, definitely a keeper!
Cheers, Tim

Yeah, definitely a good amp. The ability to use it in triode or pentode mode is great if you plan to use it at home. Also it has a very clever electronic circuit. Only 3 knobs (reverb, tone, volume) but the tone works on a multidimensional way, allowing usable dark to bright tones. It has a bright switch for humbucker guitar but you might not use it with the Tele, this amp is plenty bright. Not sparkly as a Fender, more like a Vox but it's warm and punchy at the same time. The reverb is good. There's only 4 tubes : 2x ECC83/12AX7’s and 2x EL84/6BQ5. You can link another amp through the second input (low) like a daisy chain bi-amping system
