Gibson GA15RV Combo Offer

I had someone offer me a Gibson GA15RV on Gearpage for my aerodyne tele (mij, great condition, vintage case, pro setup, stock pickups).

What are your thoughts those of you who have used these amps? It's a made in UK version (from what I hear a bit brighter). I'm looking for a great clean to boost with my pedals. I play at Church mainly.

Anyone with experience with these, your input is appreciated.

That amp was originally designed by Trace Elliot, who was gobbled up by Gibson. It was known as the Velocette, and was a really great, very Vox-flavored amp. Lots of chime and sparkle, definitely a keeper!

Cheers, Tim

Yeah, definitely a good amp. The ability to use it in triode or pentode mode is great if you plan to use it at home. Also it has a very clever electronic circuit. Only 3 knobs (reverb, tone, volume) but the tone works on a multidimensional way, allowing usable dark to bright tones. It has a bright switch for humbucker guitar but you might not use it with the Tele, this amp is plenty bright. Not sparkly as a Fender, more like a Vox but it's warm and punchy at the same time. The reverb is good. There's only 4 tubes : 2x ECC83/12AX7’s and 2x EL84/6BQ5. You can link another amp through the second input (low) like a daisy chain bi-amping system . It has a great projection without being beamy and last but not least, is not too heavy. Oh and I forgot : it looks so cool !
