So if I had a Dumble amp...

do you think I could play like this?

http://youtube.com/watch?v=l1qCczGgSxw

I don't believe I've ever heard anything quite like that before. And I hope I never hear anything like it again.

The big guy on the right is Dumble, the guy on the left is Henry Kaiser, who's, well, experimental...

Cheers, Tim

That was a bit abstract. Not my cup of tea at all.

That sounded worse that those shredder parodys.

Ive heard cats fighting that were more intune.

Thats the worst tone Ive ever heard in my life.

"Experimental" "Abstract"

You guys are being VERY diplomatic!

I'd better not post what I thought of it.

Wow!
So that is the celibrated Alexander Dumble. I had thought him older than he appears in the video.

As for Kaiser, that is some interesting expermintation.

I'm pretty sure that video is at least twenty years old, if not older!

Cheers, Tim

Kaiser had done some worthwhile stuff in the past.

I don't understand this at all.

This guy is the son of famous industrialist Henry J. Kaiser. Kaiser produced some very desirable cars, but cars not well suited to roads covered in de-icing salt, that's for sure. Kaiser owed Willys from '52 on and that's where all the Jeeps came from, until the car company sold out to AMC.

This is what happens when the rent is already paid, folks.

...somewhere, someone loves that...

I hope I never go there or meet them.

That was excruciating.

"If I had a Dumble, I'd sell it on Ebay.......... need the money.

Seeing Mr. Dumble in video or in person is like seeing Bigfoot on a hunting trip in South Alabama, not going to happen. But that's him in the video.

Surfing around, I saw a couple of other videos there as well. Dumble's explanation of how tubes work vs. silicon was pretty interesting as well. I am guessing that some of my old EE profs would have a field day with that.

Well, at least the video being old tells me why Dumble looked younger than I expected.

Is putting an extra 12AX-7 right before the PI but after the channels are summed known as "the Dumble mod" or did someone fool me?

Grandson, not son.

As I recall, the rent is all that's paid. Big fight over the estate, Henry the guitarist left with a trust fund to be available at age 25, he convinces the executor to take the fund and buy him a house after he gets out of high school and lives in that. Henry's a respected oceanographer and SCUBA instructor, also record producer and musician.

He has a DVD called "A Bunch Of Guitar Solos" which has the most amazing juxtaposition of really pretty stuff followed by totally out there avant garde stuff. Very rare to find someone who can do both with equal enthusiasm and skill.

Very simply put: that would give you the overdrive channel.

Umm. You guys do realize that the first video was a spoof right? Theres someone out there whos doctoring old videos of all kinds of famous people to make them sound awful. Pretty funny if you look at it in the right light. If I were one of the video guys I'd be pissed though. Look how many people thought that it was real....
