I bought a V8 (not the drink) just to try one out and it was really a lousy sounding amp. Its tough to make a lousy sounding tube amp but they did. Bad sounding solid-state preamp. Its not all tube. The tone control is really lousy. Try something else.

i grabbed one two weeks ago because i had a small venue gig and wanted a low watt combo. not a very good amp! i played it witht he tone knob all the way down and the guitar tone knob rolled off about 25%.
i honestly never intended to keep it. bought it on friday, returned it on sunday! i thought the epi VJ sounded a lot better.
