I have been thinking about the exact same amp for my teles - the Delta Blues with the 15" speaker, not the 2 10" speakers. This amp is supposed to be very clean (Fender-like) in the clean position and the gain stage is supposed to be very natural sounding.
If you give this amp a road test or go out and buy it, please give us a report. Rick from Lafayette |

Peavay amp and country
I have a Delta Blues (with 15" speaker), I like it alot. The clean channel is great. I don't use the over drive channel as my amp breaks up good on the clean channel when I turn up the guitar and push it a little (telly and strat). When I want over drive, I use a Boss DB2 Blues Driver. I don't play country band, but it would work fine. I also have a BF twin reverb, but it weighs a ton, so prefer the Delta blues as it is a lot easier to carry and the volume is adequate for my needs (I mic through the PA).
I have played out twice a week for 6 years and haven't any problem with it. The amp has one problem - the back is open and the tubes are easily bumped (disturbed). I haven't but a back (tube protecter) on yet but still plan to. Generally, I carry it in the back seat so I put the speaker side (cone side) toward the seat (front of the amp is heavier than the back), thus it leans slightly towards the rear of the car. I found the other way it was more prone to tip over (found out hard way - messed up some tubes). Either, if you stop quickly it will still tip over if not tied down. It is light enough that you can lift it in and out of the trunk, if you lay it down on its back or front. For an in expensive amp it is great. It's 30 watts is also ideal for most uses. Jim |

I have a Delta Blues, and although I don't play country, I did buy it in order to get some loud clean sounds. I've twanged on it. It is plenty loud and has a nice warm clean, but is not entirely Fendery - it's its own thing.
I'd recommend it - although be forewarned that it's basically the same amp that blew up in another post on this page, and I've had a friend take out a power transformer on his. I've never had a problem though, either with my Delta Blues (which I got fairly recently) or with my Classic 50 (until I poured a beer into the control panel - do not set a drink on any amp where the control panel faces up). I'd say it'll be fine if you treat it nicely. |

'nother DB 1X15 user...
i don't play country in the strict context, but i play alot of clean stuff, and i really dig alot of Country pickers.
the DB is flexible - definitely in the direction of Country. not a Fender sound so much IMO but a good clean sound. as for reliability, that's a huge question mark. mine is 9 years old and i've played it for hours on end turned all the way up. i'd say if you kept it between 4 and 7 on the volume dial you'd be fine forever. if you like the way it sounds, you may want to buy a spare - they are certainly cheap enough. the OD channel is actually disliked by many players. not really a problem, as the clean channel is great, and an OD pedal is a cheap way to get those tones. it's not the best amp in my flock, but the fact that it is still with me after almost a decade is a testament to how good it is. the stock 15 is fantastic and even 30 watts really moves some air through it!

Can work for country...
An excellent player on the L.A. country circuit is Vern Monet, and he's using this amp along with a very twangy ASAT. I have played through his rig and it's very punchy-more "midsy" sounding than a classic Fender, but cuts through the band quite well. As others have stated, not Fendery, but definitely suitable for chicken-pickin' and related styles.
