Fender's firt SS
I actually got to borrow one for a job up in Richmond. A friend of mine purchesd it without really trying it out and asked me if I would like to use it.
It didn't sound as "good" as my Silvertone twin twelve (Ha) and started to break up early in the second set. Rather than do any damage to someone elses amp, I completed the job with my Silvertone. The owner claimed that for playing around the house the amp was fine. I have to tell you also, that this guy was playing an eight year old Jazzmaster with the original strings on it. So his idea of sound quality might not be up there with our's. |
