Chinese Sockets?

Got some sockets from my amp tech today Noval 9 pin and was planning on installing them and wireing up the heater wires this weekend. These had the cases for the shields on them and I do not know where they were made (Brand new) but talk about junk. The tube tried in them would not fit in all three yet fit fine in ald old socket I had here. In fact one the plastic was cracked which I am sure he did not notice. Needless to say I will not use these and look for some others. Not sure where they are made but the metal sockets the pins fit into do not look very well made either. The two that are left will be going back to him.

jh45gun, well....if it is Chinese, it might have been made in the same factory which built a Johnson speaker I bought a couple of years ago. IT looked a lot like the speakers that we usually see...until you started counting mounting holes. There were only 6. hahahhhahaa Careful measurements and a drill cured that problem. Where did yo buy these? We don't need no stinking make-believe sockets. The surest way to cure this problem is with customer pressure. If we know the source, we might be able to change their ways...or at least avoid doing fruitless business, right?

I got them from my tech friend and not sure where he got them I doubt he ever used them so he does not know they are crap but he will next week when I take them back. Problem solved, I just talked to a friend who is junking out an old Cordavox amp and making a guitar amp out of it and the side that has all the tubes for the notes on the accordian has a bunch of 9 pin sockets so he is going to grab a few for me today and bring them to me tomorrow. Just will have to clean them up and bolt them in.
