I'd REALLY like to try this! (1902 Gibson)

I've seen bad photos of this guitar. This is the best pics I've seen of this particular model. I can't help but wonder what it sounds like, what it plays like. The neck looks HUGE. The body is also quite huge. An amazing looking instrument!

1902 Gibson

trag-o-caster - I too would like to hear that 1902 Gibson. I have a 1934 Gibson L-50. It was my father's godfather's guitar in the late 30's - 40's. My dad brought it home after his godfather died and left it in his will to dad. I received it in 1963 and sent it to Klamazoo for new picguard, refret, tuning pegs and replace the back. It has my grand godfather's wear on the fretboard and when I switch from folk/rock to jazz the guitar just takes over.
17" lower bout, 2 f-holes, no cutaway. It is loud, sweet and smooth!

Here is Orville's first guitar from 1897, which as you can see is very similar to the 1902.

It totally blows my mind that the sides and neck are one piece. Is it even possible to get a piece of walnut that large now, if so what would it cost?

No matter what our preferences, to see or hear that would be awesome.
